Not sure what this phrase means, but I have felt like I was entering a battle field to approach my first few days of "single" parenting with three little ones under my care. What verse could be more appropriate for this third day than Gal. 6:9, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Aaahhh, a harvest if I do not give up on mothering! A harvest of what? A harvest of righteousness and peace is promised in Hebrews 12:11 to those who have been trained under discipline. I have certainly been trained this weekend! I have been training too. May both the discipline I undergo and the discipline I administer (without giving up) bring more of Jesus into our home.
Nothing delights my heart more than to hear our four-year-old pray in repentance and trust. Unfortunately, some ugly scenes have been the forerunner for his faith. Unless we see our wickedness and our weariness, we will not see our need for God. But He reveals our need through discipline, and He never gives up!
